As a newborn when he was left on the street, this pup faced different challenges compared to most dogs. His story of how he was welcomed into a forever home is sure to warm your heart.Joy was just a puppy when his owners cruelly abandoned him on a sidewalk in Romania. Rescuers from Howl of a Dog found him, determined to give him a second chance at life.Witnessing this lost soul crying and alone was heartbreaking. Through love and care, Joy was transformed into a wonderful pet.

Newborn puppies face different challenges than those abandoned at a later age. Joy was still blind, deaf and toothless when she first felt the hard pavement beneath her feet.

Since puppies struggle to regulate their body temperature, rehabilitating this little one required extra care and attention.

All the efforts paid off in the end. With Joy growing stronger by the day, his keepers adored his affectionate nature. By the end of his first week in his new environment, he was eagerly drinking milk from a bottle and was accustomed to being held and interacting with humans.

Like any pup, Joy spent much of her time sleeping, but by her third week with her rescuers, she had found a best friend: a white Siberian tiger stuffed animal that accompanied her on her escapades.

As Joy continued to thrive, it became apparent that she would fit in perfectly with her new family, prompting her to be introduced to the other dogs.

Despite her tiny size compared to her canine siblings, they adored her energetic behavior, playing with her and letting her climb on them. Joy was well on her way to becoming a beloved member of the pack.

A few weeks before Christmas, the Howl of a Dog team received some heartwarming news: Joy had found his forever family. A family in the Netherlands had fallen in love with him and wanted to adopt him, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Joy.

“They couldn’t wait for another day to come around to meet Joy,” the rescuers shared. Determined to bring him home, they travelled across Europe to collect him, showing their deep commitment to the pup.

By meeting her foster parents in Vienna and bringing Joy’s favorite toy with them, rescuers ensured Joy had a comforting and familiar object in her new home.

Joy’s new family welcomed him with open arms. The once abandoned pup is now an integral part of the household, happily playing and frolicking in his new home.

Doctors said there was a minimal chance that he would ever get up, but we held on to that hope with all our strength. Every day we prayed, watching him crawl around the house, seeing him longingly watch other children outside. He had no one to play with – his peers didn’t understand his condition, and we, the adults, couldn’t replace a real friend. That’s when we decided to get a dog. We wanted him to have at least one real friend. We chose a Doberman from the shelter. We named her Tara. And then one day… A piercing, heart-wrenching bark shook the house. It was so loud that we thought our hearts stopped. We rushed outside in a panic, thinking the worst. We were afraid Tara had hurt our son. But what we saw stunned us to the core. Our four-year-old son was standing. HE WAS STANDING, holding onto the stroller. His knees were trembling, his hands tightly gripping the handles, and beside him stood Tara, barking – as if calling us, as if shouting, “Look! Look what he has achieved!” I started crying. We both rushed to our son. He looked at us with fear, but in his eyes, there was something new – confidence, strength. It was a real miracle.
